ZCARDS

I started Zcards during the first lockdown (2019) in Cairo, Egypt. I noticed that one of the things I missed most was receiving/giving cards during special occasions, I felt like sending a text message was just not the same! then what felt like a silly little idea ended up being a whole business. I started designing cards for all occasions varying from Eid celebrations, Ramadan, Christmas, birthdays and Valentine’s Day. I started to see lots of ways to incorporate sentiment into my cards and make them more relatable, I also attempted to add some humour using puns and illustrations.

After a year of working on just cards, I decided to expand Zcards and started designing book covers, giveaway cards for small businesses (like MotherNaked), posters and digital invitations (see next section).
